Why We Invested In Let’s Do This

Accelerate Ventures’ Investment in Let’s Do This

Accelerate Ventures is delighted to announce our investment in Let’s Do This, investing alongside Morpheus Ventures in the company’s recent Series B bridge round.

Founded in London in 2016, Let’s Do This is the leading online platform for endurance sports events. It makes it easy for participants to discover, book, and prepare for races, while giving organisers the technology to manage them at scale.

The Market Opportunity

The endurance sports market has grown sharply over the past two decades, with tens of thousands of endurance events taking place each year.

Despite this demand, the market remained fragmented. Event participants often had to search across multiple sites to find races, while organisers relied on outdated systems unsuited to mobile users and unequipped to deal with surges in demand. Social features were also missing, despite the fact that 81% of runners cite community as one of the biggest motivators to sign up for races (Strava).

The Problem

Let’s Do This set out to solve the dual issues of discovery and technology. On discovery, tens of thousands of events exist worldwide, but they are fragmented, with no centralised platform of event listings for race-seekers to look to. And on the tech side, organisers prioritise the event experience without necessarily having a deep understanding of the technology beneath – events without modern tools for registration, analytics, and communication can be inefficient and badly run, particularly as events grow in scale.

Solution #1: Scalable Tools for Organisers

For organisers, Let’s Do This provides a broad feature set: handling cloud-based registration and ticketing systems, ballots, wave starts, team entries, charity fundraising, and more. And it has proven itself on the world’s biggest stages: for this year’s London Marathon, it processed a world-record 1.1 million+ applications with peak demand of 45,000 entries per hour.

Beyond ticketing, organisers gain integrated CRM, analytics, membership management, referral programs, and charity tools. One organiser reported “I don’t know another platform that’s got the breadth that [Let’s Do This] has.”

With clients typically hosting major events, platform reliability is a central issue. Major organisers like LME (London Marathon) and Mascot Sports (Diplo’s Run Club, Run Travis Run) have trusted the platform to deliver seamless sign-ups at scale, and other organisers are taking note.

Solution #2: Unified Marketplace

Let’s Do This created an online marketplace where athletes can browse and book thousands of events across the UK, US, and beyond. Smart recommendations, mobile-first design, and features like free cancellation reduce friction. Social tools encourage participation with friends, reflecting that community drives sign-ups.

By aggregating events and building social features, Let’s Do This makes race discovery simple and engaging, opening the door for both seasoned athletes and newcomers.

Why We’re Excited

Let’s Do This is unlocking an enormous market by solving discovery for participants and technology for organisers. The platform encourages more people to take part in endurance sport, delivering social value as well as commercial. Its mission of “getting everyone together offline” has attracted backing from athletes including Serena Williams, Usain Bolt, and Paula Radcliffe, as well as top-tier institutional investors such as Craft Ventures, NFX, Morpheus Ventures, and Y Combinator.

Traction is strong: over 4 million registrations across 16,000+ events, one of the clear leading UK players, and a growing US presence. Excellent net revenue retention rates show that organisers expand their usage once onboard.

The Team

Founders Sam Browne (CEO) and Alex Rose (COO), former University of Cambridge athletes, started Let’s Do This after experiencing the frustrations of race sign-up first-hand. They have built a strong team including senior hires with deep industry expertise and alumni from top tech firms. The company also recently announced the launch of its AI agent Nova to further support organisers.

We’ve been impressed by the team’s execution and resilience, including how they navigated the pandemic’s shutdown of live events.

Looking Ahead

The company’s near-term focus is consolidating its lead in endurance sports while adding features that deepen community and enhance organiser tools. Longer term, its platform could extend into other mass-participation experiences that go beyond sport: adventure travel, music festivals, and large charity events, representing a multi-billion dollar opportunity on top of their core sports market.

Let’s Do This exemplifies the kind of companies that we look to support: solving real problems in large markets with a product loved by customers. We’re excited to back the team as they scale in the UK, US, and beyond.
